Marriage Mentor Training

using the FOCCUS Marriage Inventory

WHEN: Saturday, February 23, 2008 - 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

WHERE: Grace Church, Lynchburg VA

WHO: Pastors and spouses are encouraged to attend, along with mentor

 couples from your church.

WHAT you will learn:

How to use the FOCCUS and ReFOCCUS marriage inventories to help couples learn more about themselves and their relationship

How to engage and motivate lay couples in marriage ministry as mentors to engaged or married couples

How to establish and maintain an ongoing marriage ministry that will strengthen and enhance marriage relationships in your church

How to make your premarital preparation more effective and time-efficient, helping couples recognize and work through significant issues before they get married

How to use ReFOCCUS to help married couples

Presenters:

     Phil Waugh, Executive Director of the National Covenant Marriage Movement

     Larry Compter, Executive Director of the Marriage Alliance of Central Virginia

Cost:  $95 per couple (or pastor/counselor).  Participants will receive a FOCCUS Facilitators Notebook, a Mentor's Guide for FOCCUS, and a sample ReFOCCUS inventory.   Lunch is included.
